About the programmer
Every two years since 1994 Figura Theaterfestival has been presenting high quality productions from home and abroad, with countless Swiss debut performances in all the theatres of Baden, Wettingen and Turgi, and open air on the streets and squares of the town.
From 18-23 June 2024, Figura Theaterfestival will feature about 30 performances from different European countries and overseas. The main emphasis lies on contemporary theatre forms for an adult audience. But we also offer a program for the whole family.
In 2024 the Cantonal Council of Aargau will award the eleventh Grünschnabel (Greenhorn) prize. Worth 10,000 Swiss Francs, it will go to a young theatre company starting out professionally and working in an original way with puppets and objects.
During every edition of Figura Theaterfestival we also host a number of about 25 European programmers. This is an appeal for the performing artists and a fantastic opportunity to build up international contacts to get recognized by other theatres and festivals.
