Subotica International Children’s Theatre Festival is announcing an open competition for participation in the competition programme of the 23rd Festival edition, which is going to be held 22-28 May 2016.
All puppet and children’s theatres, as well as all those theatres which have performances for children in their repertoire,* are invited to send their applications to Festival Head Office address:

* All types of theatre for children are represented at the festival, with selection priority being given to puppet theatre expression.

CALL FOR PAPERS
Dear theatre experts!
It is our pleasure to inform you that Subotica International Children’s Theatre Festival, in co-operation with the Theatre Museum of Vojvodina from Novi Sad (Serbia), is organizing an International Research College of Theatre Arts for Children and Young People conference for the eighth time, now under the title: Myth in Contemporary Theatre for Children.
With the aim to critically explore theatre for the youngest, the following themes are suggested:
· Transformation of mythical paradigms in contemporary dramaturgy and theatre for children
· Postmodern deconstruction of myth in contemporary theatre for children
· Myth in theatre for children in comparison with other artistic media
· Myth in children’s education: theatre for children in the function of psychological development
· Mythic / ritual forms in theatre: a specificum of children’s reception
· Myth synopses in “theatre for adults” and “theatre for children: theoretical distinctions
We have the honour to invite you to contribute by your presence and participation to success of this meeting which is going to be held within the framework of the 23rd International Children’s Theatre Festival in Subotica, Serbia, over two or three days between 22-28 May 2016.
Sessions will be held in Serbian and English with simultaneous interpretation provided.
All interested researchers and artists are kindly requested to submit their application with the short summary of their paper (no more than one page) and their short biography by 31 January 2016 to let organizers make selection timely.
Each author will be informed of acceptance or non-acceptance of his or her paper by 1 March 2016. The authors whose proposals are accepted will be expected to submit their full papers (2000-4000 words) in English or in Serbian by 1 May 2016 at the latest.

Participants in the conference (chosen to present their papers) will be guests of the 23rd Subotica International Children’s Theatre Festival in May 2016. The organizer will provide transportation from the airport to Subotica and back (for those arriving by plane), free entrance to all Festival events, and cover accommodation costs for the duration of the conference (hotel, full board).
